Vanessa Best Takes On Medical Billing’s Paper Tiger

Processing of medical claims nationwide reached 6 billion in 1993, forcing doctors to turn to specialists for forms processing. Vanessa Best has worked as a healthcare professional for over fourteen years specializing in Hospital & Physician Billing, Claims Adjudication, Insurance Verification and Managed Care Programs.

With this experience, she decided to start her own home-based medical billing business, Precision HealthCare Consultants. She had a four month old child and wanted to spend more time at home. She also had hopes of increasing her income. Her opportunity came when a physician left her hospital for private practice. She attributes her success to aggressive marketing, directed at physicians setting up new private practices, “And if your clients are pleased,” she says “word-of-mouth will roll in more customers.” Obviously it’s worked for her.
