International Men's Health Week is a global initiative with the goal of increasing awareness of male health issues and encouraging institutions to develop health policies and services that meet the specific needs of men, boys, and their families. Here at Precision Health Care Consutants, we take pride in promoting quality health care to all populations around the world. We understand that health is not simply an absence of illness, but rather is a state of well-being that spans across numerous dimensions. Men’s Health Week aims to encourage men all around the world to focus on all dimensions of health, including but not limited to mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional health.
Breaking Down Men's Health: A Statistical Analysis
According to a Duke University 2023 study, men are less likely to advocate for themselves with regards to healthcare. They reported to have shorter life expectancies when compared to their female counterparts, are four times more likely to die from suicide, and are at a higher risk for diseases such as heart disease, cancer, stroke, HIV, and AIDS. Men are also less likely to engage in preventative care and account for 92% of workplace deaths.
Empowering Men's Health
The best way to empower men’s health is by being involved with one’s own well-being. Be educated, be informed, and be proactive. Regular doctor’s visits, health care screenings, and educating oneself on their own aspects of health can make all the difference in prolonging and enjoying a healthy life.
