A MBDA \u00e9 a \u00fanica ag\u00eancia federal encarregada de promover o crescimento e a competitividade das empresas de propriedade de minorias. Ela e o marido viajavam n\u00e3o apenas para promover seus produtos, mas tamb\u00e9m para dar palestras e demonstra\u00e7\u00f5es ao vivo sobre o uso de pentes aquecidos, que foi uma das bases dos secadores de cabelo e ferros de passar roupa que conhecemos hoje. Ela abriu sua pr\u00f3pria f\u00e1brica e escola de beleza, mas, ao mesmo tempo, tamb\u00e9m sabia da import\u00e2ncia da filantropia e da educa\u00e7\u00e3o para o benef\u00edcio dos afro-americanos.
