There is a $7.3 Billion Investment in Health System Transformation in New York State. Approved Quality healthcare is at the forefront to the 19.75 million residents. Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) Project Plans for New York State. The overall goal of DSRIP is to reduce avoidable hospital use by 25% within five (5) year period through transforming NYS health care system into a financially viable, high performing system.
DSRIP requires that healthcare providers collaborate by forming a Performing Provider System (PPS). The PPSs are either Safety Net PPS which are run by non-profit hospitals or other providers, or Public PPS which is led by a public hospital system. The PPS must implement approved innovative projects that focus on clinical improvement, population health improvement and system transformation. A total number Twenty-Five Performing Providers Systems (PPSs) have already received state and federal approval and have been notified of the dollar amounts they may receive during the five-year DSRIP program.
